Happy 90th!

Hello everybody! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your elated doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

As you can see, I'm looking at a very delicious piece of birthday cake. No, it's not my birthday. On Sunday I went to a birthday party for my dear Oma who turns 90 years old today! Wow!

Ryan and Oma.

Almost our whole family was there at Uncle John's house. He has a great big back yard with a pool, a tree house, and lots of grass to run around on, and yummy tomatoes in the garden. Here I am sitting on my Jason human's lap. Do you see the tree house in the back ground?

Ryan kept climbing up there. The grown-ups took turns watching him at the bottom to make sure he didn't fall off.

There was lots of yummy food for me to watch. And I must say, everyone was very generous. I got to sample all of it including ribs, chicken, potato salad, and of course, cake!

To top things off, here's what we saw walking around in the back of the yard:

Wow! I really wanted to chase those deer, but I wasn't allowed to. Later, someone took me for a walk along the edge of the little woods so I could at least sniff their footie prints. It was a great day! But very tiring too …

Snnnnooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrkkkkk!

  5. Happy birthday. Wow. Just think of all the changes that have happened during her lifetime. From pretty much the dawn of flight to computers, social media and self-driving cars.

  8. Happy Ninetieth Birthday to your Oma! How special that is:)

Those deer were quite bold to trespass that close to a pawrty...I would have barked em good and also like you, begged to give a good chase.

On Sunday of the long weekend, there was a pawrty at the petcretary's work place, a couple who live there as long term residents celebrated 70 years of marriage! Wow!! The petcretary said they had a yummy cake with real whipped cream, but she did not bring me any when she got home...

That sure looks like a fun tree house!!

  15. Wow!! 90 is a good age to be. We three would be very interested in seeing some deer, but we are somewhat confused. Here in New Zealand you don't tend to see deer so close to human houses. They live out in the countryside.

    1. There are too many deer around here in Western NY State. Ghostwriter sees them all the time while driving home from work at night. Sometimes they come right up to the windows of the nursing home to steal from the birdie feeders! One snowy winter night, she saw a whole herd walking down the sidewalk of the little town as if they owned them! Then they crossed the busy road and headed to the grocery store. Perhaps they were going to raid the produce section!
