Surprise Visitor

This is a TDB fast breaking news story. I'm your astonished doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Look what ghostwriter found by the back door this evening! Wow!

She said she almost stepped on him! What a mess that would have been!

We all couldn't believe that this toad had gotten so big over the hot, dry summer. He must have been feasting on Japanese beetles through July, and crickets lately, since those seem to be the only bugs that were in abundance this year.

After a photo session, during which the toad peed a lot on ghostwriter's and Dad's hands, and on the floor, Dad put the gigantic amphibian outside in the front yard, so I couldn't get him. A word of advice to you doggies out there. If you see a toad, leave it alone. It might be the poisonous kind.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program already in progress.

Oh, and I'd like to remind my favorite Princess that the moon is half full and rises in the late afternoon.

  7. I have sniffed a few toadies, but I just don't care for the smell that emanates from them I guess... so they are safe with me:) That is a huge toad! Sometimes they are on the sidewalk here too when the petcretary comes home from her work. I hope they gobble up all the naughty mosquitoes, sheesh those are in way too great abundance.
We have lots of pretty green tree froggies here! They even hang on to the windows. Moths beware, BOL!
